Cordyceps has been used in Chinese and Tibetan medicine for thousands of years as one of the most valuable medicinal mushrooms. Its fruiting bodies are a source of valuable nutrients – amino acids, proteins, sterols, fatty acids, polysaccharides, as well as B vitamins, vitamin K and a number of bioactive compounds, thanks to which it has a wide range of health-promoting properties. Cordycepin (3'dATP) extracted from cordyceps is credited with a number of protective properties – it has strong antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and neuroprotective effects.

Cordycepic acid present in the fungus accelerates metabolism, supports detoxification of the body and has an immunostimulatory effect.

Cordyceps polysaccharides are characterised by a wide range of bioactivity, including hypocholesterolemic and antiviral effects (e.g. on the influenza virus).

This means that cordyceps reduces the risk of developing cancer and blood sugar disorders, aids metabolism, supports the fight against pathogens and eliminates inflammation. Its high therapeutic potential is also used to support brain function – in learning and memory processes.
