Fish free and allergen free, in a dark glass bottle. 30 servings per bottle.

Learn more about the product

MEGA Omega 3 Vegan was created for people on a plant based diet, for those who do not eat fish, and for anyone put off supplementation by a fishy aftertaste. One 5 ml serving provides 750 mg of omega-3 fatty acids: 570 mg DHA and 185 mg EPA.

Worth knowing: flaxseed, chia seeds and walnuts mainly provide alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). The human body converts ALA into DHA to a limited extent, whereas this product delivers DHA and EPA directly from microalgae.

Schizochytrium sp. microalgae are a source of DHA and EPA. Obtaining omega-3 directly from microalgae requires neither fish nor fish oil.

The algae oil used in production has a typical TOTOX value below 8, against a limit of 26 set out in the GOED industry monograph. TOTOX indicates the degree of oxidation of an oil: the lower the value, the lower the oxidation. The finished product is bottled in dark glass and protected with tocopherol rich extract and rosemary extract, because omega-3 fatty acids oxidise under light, oxygen and heat.

The beneficial effect on normal brain function and normal vision is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA. For normal heart function the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA. One serving of this product exceeds both thresholds.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Organic & raw ingredients

We believe that health is the most important thing we have. All our ingredients are of proven origin. We use organic and 'raw' ingredients whenever possible. We care about you and what you put in your body, because we believe that we are what we eat.
BeKeto is one of a dozen or so companies in the world(!) that use raw powdered cocoa beans in their products. They are the healthiest, least processed, and on top of that they contain healthy cocoa fat! Quality, not quantity. Always.

Clean Label

We're sure you've heard it before, but the fewer ingredients a product has, the better it is. We are constantly reviewing our manufacturing process and looking at what we can do to further reduce the number of ingredients, while still maintaining the highest health and taste benefits of the products. This is exactly what happened with our MCT oil powders! They currently contain only MCT oil and acacia fibre. They are gluten-free and vegan. It couldn't be simpler. We are changing for you.

Plant based

Today, around 90% of our products are plant-based, and on top of that, can be used by vegans. We limit meat-based ingredients to meet the needs of low-carbohydrate Bequetonians who are vegan or vegetarian by the way. However, for Keto Collagen and Keto Protein Isolate, we decided that switching to plant-based ingredients would harm the quality of these products, so we stayed with beef collagen (grass-fed) and whey protein isolate (dairy-based).

Supply chain control

We are fully aware of the origin of our products as we are direct importers of the raw materials we use. Our goal is to control the entire supply chain and production processes. We do this to increase the quality of BeKeto products. Additionally, we require guarantees that they are sourced in sustainable, fair conditions, usually from local suppliers.

Zero compromise policy

Even if this means higher production costs or sourcing more expensive raw materials, we always carefully select the highest quality ingredients for our products. Our ultimate goal is your complete satisfaction, because we have a healthy obsession with the customer.

Our standards for the ketogenic diet

According to our company guidelines, the macronutrient breakdown in BeKeto is: 60-80% fat, 10 - 25% protein, 5-10% carbohydrates, so as to maintain a healthy metabolic ketosis.

We assume that the total daily carbohydrate supply should not exceed 50g net. People with high physical activity can afford a higher carbohydrate intake according to their individual needs.

We believe that the ketogenic diet is optimal for everyone and everyone is able to tailor it to their needs and goals. On keto you can lose weight, increase muscle mass or simply feel better. You decide.

We are here to help you with that.

The carrier nobody usually thinks about

Algae oil is normally combined with a suitable carrier. Instead of sunflower oil or olive oil, MCT oil was chosen here, a source of medium chain fatty acids that people on a ketogenic diet often reach for. The effect is twofold: the taste stays light and citrusy, and the composition fits well into a ketogenic diet. The use of MCT oil sets this formulation apart.

Try it out and fall in love

A teaspoon instead of a handful of capsules

The liquid form delivers in a single serving a dose that would take several capsules. One teaspoon equals 570 mg DHA and 185 mg EPA from Schizochytrium sp. microalgae. These microalgae sit at the base of the marine food chain, and it is from them that fish obtain their own omega-3. The flavour comes from Sicilian lemon oil rather than an aroma, and leaves no fishy aftertaste, because there is no fish in the composition.

Frequently asked questions

Algae oil is a source of DHA and EPA. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision, while EPA and DHA together contribute to the normal function of the heart. The beneficial effect on brain and vision is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA, and for the heart with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA. One serving of this oil, that is 5 ml, provides 570 mg DHA and 185 mg EPA, exceeding both thresholds.

In terms of the bioavailability of DHA and EPA, the study cited found a comparable result. In a randomised double blind trial, DHA and EPA levels in plasma phospholipids were analysed in 74 adults after 6 and 14 weeks of taking omega-3 from either microalgal or fish oil. The bioavailability of DHA and EPA from microalgal oil was found to be statistically non-inferior to fish oil. The study used oil from Schizochytrium sp., the same genus of microalgae as in this product, at a similar EPA to DHA ratio. Omega-3 is a whole family of fatty acids and DHA is one of them. Flaxseed, chia and walnuts mainly provide ALA, another member of that family. The difference is practical: DHA and EPA are used by the body directly, whereas ALA must first be converted, and that conversion takes place in the liver and is very limited. The step leading to DHA is the narrowest of all. The NIH draws a practical conclusion from this: consuming EPA and DHA directly from food or supplements is the only practical way to increase levels of these fatty acids in the body. Schizochytrium sp. microalgae are a source of DHA and EPA. These fatty acids are originally synthesised by microalgae rather than by fish, which take them in with their food and accumulate them in their tissues. Obtaining omega-3 directly from microalgae requires neither fishing nor fish oil, which reduces reliance on fish stocks. The recommended daily serving is 5 ml, that is one teaspoon. Time of day does not matter, regularity does, and it is convenient to take the oil with a meal containing fat. Do not fry with it and do not add it to hot dishes: omega-3 fatty acids have many double bonds and therefore oxidise easily under heat, oxygen and light. The oil works straight from the spoon and in a smoothie, yoghurt, salad or hummus. Once opened, keep the bottle closed, in a cool, dry place, away from light. The algae oil in this product has a typical TOTOX value below 8, against an industry limit of 26, and dark glass together with tocopherol rich extract and rosemary extract protect it from oxidation.

The product contains no fish derived ingredients and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians, for people avoiding fish and seafood, and for anyone put off supplementation by a fishy aftertaste. The MCT oil base also makes the product suitable for a ketogenic diet. This product is intended for adults. Not for use by children or by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you take anticoagulant medication or are due to have surgery, consult your doctor before use. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Keep out of reach of young children.
